Chełm Map Poster & Print
Chełm lies in the Lublin region of eastern Poland, close to the border with Ukraine. The town's defining feature is a low chalk hill crowned by a basilica and bell tower, from which the old centre spreads downward. On a map, the older streets bend around the rise, while later districts form more regular grids on the flatter ground beyond.
Beneath the old town runs something no street map can show directly: a network of chalk tunnels dug over centuries of mining. Part of it is now open to visitors as the Chełm Chalk Underground, one of the more unusual attractions in the country. Above ground, the small Uherka river and the railway lines trace their own paths through the outskirts.
A Chełm map poster reveals the town's layout with a clarity that is hard to appreciate at street level. The rounded core around the hill, the market square and the long roads heading toward Lublin and the border give the composition a clear centre and strong direction, all rendered in clean black lines.

Market square blocks
Below the hill, the historic market square and surrounding blocks follow a more regular plan, a classic feature of Polish town centres that prints with crisp definition.
Roads to the east
Long routes lead out toward Lublin and the Ukrainian border, along with railway lines, giving the composition strong lines radiating from the compact centre.
