Chhaya lies on the Saurashtra coast of Gujarat and is effectively joined to the city of Porbandar. On the map there is barely a gap between them. Streets and neighbourhoods run continuously from one to the other, set on flat, low ground not far from the Arabian Sea. Creeks, salt flats and open land appear in the spaces around the built-up area.
