Grand Boulevard ring
The circular road around the historic downtown is the defining shape on the map, a clean geometric loop that looks as if it were drawn with a compass.

Corona Map Poster & Print
Corona is one of the few American cities with a circle at its centre. Grand Boulevard loops around the original town site in an almost perfect ring, and the city's nickname, the Circle City, comes straight from it. Inside the ring the streets form a tidy grid. Outside it, the pattern loosens into curving subdivisions, business parks and the broad arcs of freeway interchanges.
The circle had an unusual early use. Between 1913 and 1916 the boulevard hosted automobile road races that drew large crowds. The town itself grew on citrus, especially lemons, and the packing houses and rail lines that served the groves shaped its older blocks. Today State Route 91 and Interstate 15 cross near the city and tie it into the wider Inland Empire.
To the south and west the Santa Ana Mountains rise, and the street grid thins as it climbs into canyons and foothills. A Corona map poster sets all of this in black and white. The ring of Grand Boulevard is the obvious focus, framed by freeways, the Santa Ana River corridor to the north and the edges where suburbs meet open slopes.

Freeway interchange
Route 91 and Interstate 15 meet close to the city. Their long, sweeping ramps form a large, precise knot of lines among the smaller residential streets.
Foothill edge
Toward the Santa Ana Mountains the grid breaks into winding cul-de-sacs and canyon roads, then stops where the open, unbuilt slopes begin.

Waarom Corona
Een kaart met betekenis
A circle at the centre of a city is rare, and it makes an unusually strong composition on the wall. Residents, former residents and anyone with a family story tied to the Inland Empire tend to recognise it at once.
Add a personal title, a subtitle with a date or street name, and your own coordinates line, then pick one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Blueprint. Digital files come in six print sizes, or you can order a framed print from a partner near you.
