Dembech’a Map Poster & Print
Dembech’a lies in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia, in the Gojjam highlands, at a considerable elevation. From above, the town stretches along the main road running through it. Side streets branch off on both sides, and a grid of blocks has developed around the centre, while the edges of town give way quickly to cultivated fields.
The surrounding landscape is typical of the Ethiopian highlands. Gently rolling plateau is divided into small farm plots, and streams cut shallow valleys through it. On a map, the field boundaries and footpaths form a fine, irregular pattern around the town. The main road crosses the landscape as a single, confident line.
A Dembech’a map poster presents a highland town in its setting: a compact core along a road, surrounded by farmland. It is a simple, clean composition with a clear sense of place. It suits people from Gojjam and the Ethiopian diaspora with ties to the area.
