Donghui Map Poster & Print
Donghui lies in the far southwest of Yunnan province, in the mountainous border region of Pu'er prefecture. On the map, the settlement appears as a compact cluster of streets set in a valley, with roads following the lie of the land as they wind toward neighbouring villages and towns.
The surrounding terrain is steep and heavily folded, so the built-up area stays close to the valley floor while the slopes are left to forest and cultivated terraces. This part of Yunnan is home to several ethnic communities and lies within one of China's well-known tea-growing regions.
A Donghui map poster shows how closely the settlement follows its setting. The narrow cluster of streets, the winding approach roads and the open space around them make a restrained composition, one where the empty areas suggest the ridges and forests that frame the town.

Winding roads
Roads into and out of town twist along contours and ridgelines, their curving lines giving the map a sense of the steep country beyond.
Mountain setting
Forested hills enclose the settlement on all sides, so the town appears on the map as a small, defined shape within a large open field.
