Irrigation canals
Canals cut across the valley in long, straight strokes, some running right past the town, and they give the map its sense of order and scale.

Esperanza Map Poster & Print
Esperanza lies in the Yaqui Valley of southern Sonora, just north of Ciudad Obregón in the municipality of Cajeme. The valley is one of Mexico's most productive irrigated farming regions, and the map shows it immediately: straight roads, straight canals and rectangular fields extend in every direction, with the town as a denser patch within that vast, orderly pattern.
Inside Esperanza the streets follow the same logic, a regular grid of blocks aligned with the agricultural survey around it. Irrigation canals pass close to the edges of town, drawing precise lines on the print, while the main road to Ciudad Obregón links it to the larger city to the south.
The Yaqui Valley is closely associated with wheat research, including work that fed into the Green Revolution of the twentieth century. An Esperanza map poster captures that agricultural geometry, where a town and its fields share the same ruled lines and the land itself looks as deliberate as a technical drawing.

Field grid
Around Esperanza, farmland is divided into large rectangles, a pattern so regular that the town's own street grid seems to continue straight out into the fields.
Road to Obregón
A direct road runs south towards Ciudad Obregón, a clear axis that ties the smaller town to the valley's main city and anchors the composition.
