De kaart
Floirac Map Poster & Print
Floirac lies on the right bank of the Garonne, facing central Bordeaux across the river. Its map has two distinct levels. Along the water, a flat plain holds newer districts, rail lines and large developments. To the east the land climbs steeply onto the coteaux, a line of wooded hills where the streets begin to wind and follow the slope.
The hills made the town a natural site for the Bordeaux Observatory, which was built on the heights of Floirac in the late nineteenth century. Down on the plain, the Arkéa Arena opened in 2018 and has become one of the region's main concert and sports venues. It is part of the wider redevelopment of Bordeaux's right bank.
A Floirac map poster shows the whole change from river to hills. It runs from the broad curve of the Garonne and the flat grid near the water to the winding roads and green spaces on the hillside. It is a strong choice for residents, for people following the right bank's transformation, and for anyone who enjoys maps where the terrain shapes every line.

The coteaux
A steep line of wooded hills rises east of the plain. Here the streets become winding roads that trace the slope.
Observatory heights
The historic observatory grounds sit on the hills above the river. They show up clearly as an open green space among the hillside neighbourhoods.
