Ribble estuary
The wide mouth of the Ribble curves along the southern edge. Its mudflats and channels form a broad, smooth shape that sets off the busier streets of Lytham.

De kaart
Fylde Map Poster & Print
The Fylde is the flat coastal plain of west Lancashire. The borough of the same name covers Lytham St Annes on the coast and market towns such as Kirkham inland. From above, the most striking feature is the shoreline. Sand dunes and long straight promenades face the Irish Sea, and the wide mouth of the Ribble estuary curves along the southern edge.
Lytham St Annes developed as two neighbouring resorts. The streets are laid out in the regular pattern of Victorian seaside planning, and a white windmill stands on Lytham Green facing the estuary. Inland, the map opens into large fields, drainage ditches and scattered villages. Royal Lytham & St Annes, a links course that has hosted the Open Championship, lies among the dunes.
A Fylde map poster captures a place shaped by sand and flatness. There are no hills to deflect the roads, so the lines run long and calm. The coastline forms a strong, clean edge on the west. In Blueprint or Paper, the estuary's broad curve and the tidy resort streets make an understated composition.

Dune coastline
From St Annes northward, a long line of dunes and promenade faces the Irish Sea and gives the map a straight western edge.
Open plain
Inland, the fields are divided by lanes and drainage ditches, with small towns and villages set far apart across the flat ground.

Waarom Fylde
Een kaart met betekenis
The Fylde is where many people spent childhood summers, retired by the sea, or walked the estuary on a windy afternoon. A map of its coast and plain works as a quiet reminder of that openness.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are all editable, so you can mark a particular town or year, and there are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
