Monte Orlando headland
The promontory is almost free of streets and is ringed by coastline. On the map it forms a bold, rounded shape that pushes out into the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Gaeta Map Poster & Print
Gaeta sits on a promontory on the coast of southern Lazio, halfway between Rome and Naples. From above, it is easy to recognise. The wooded height of Monte Orlando reaches out to sea, the medieval quarter of Sant'Erasmo climbs its landward side, and the modern town stretches along the curve of the Gulf of Gaeta.
The town has long been a stronghold. Its castle and fortifications watched over the approach from the sea, and Gaeta was the last refuge of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies during the siege of 1860–61. Today it is also known for its olives, the tiella pie, and the Montagna Spezzata, a cliff split by a deep cleft.
A Gaeta map poster makes the most of this dramatic outline. Water surrounds the headland on three sides, the old town's lanes are tightly knotted, and the waterfront road draws a clean arc toward Formia.

Sant'Erasmo quarter
The medieval centre climbs the slope beneath the castle in a close tangle of lanes and steps. It is the most intricate part of the print.
Gulf waterfront
A long seafront road follows the curve of the gulf from the old town toward the modern districts. It gives the composition a sweeping arc.

Waarom Gaeta
Een kaart met betekenis
Gaeta draws summer visitors to its beaches as well as people with family ties to southern Lazio. Its shape, a headland with a gulf beside it, is striking enough to work as a wall piece even for people who have never been.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a holiday date or a family name. The map is available in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
