Forest setting
Dense woodland covers most of the area, so the map is defined by a few narrow roads and paths passing through an otherwise empty space.

Gierłoż Map Poster & Print
Gierłoż is a small village in north-eastern Poland, a short distance east of Kętrzyn in the Warmian-Masurian region. On a map it appears as only a handful of roads and buildings set within dense forest, with the lakes typical of Masuria scattered across the surrounding landscape.
The village is known internationally as the site of the Wolf's Lair, the wartime headquarters of Hitler on the Eastern Front, and the place of the failed assassination attempt of July 1944. The ruins of its concrete bunkers still lie in the forest and are visited today as a historical site.
A Gierłoż map poster is necessarily quiet and restrained. It shows forest paths, a railway line, lakeshores and a few small clearings. For historians, visitors or people from the region, it offers a sober record of a place whose layout carries a weight far beyond its size.

Bunker site
The historical site of the Wolf's Lair lies within the forest, its access roads and clearings forming a small, deliberate pattern among the trees.
Masurian lakes
Nearby lakes add soft, irregular shapes to the composition, part of the lake district that defines this corner of Poland.
