Medieval core
The historic centre is a maze of short, narrow lanes around the cathedral. On the poster it forms the darkest, most intricate part of the whole composition.

Grasse Map Poster & Print
Grasse climbs a south-facing slope in the hills behind Cannes. From above, the old town is a dense knot of narrow, twisting lanes packed around the cathedral. Newer roads leave it in long switchbacks, following the contours of the hillside. Villas and gardens spread across the terraces below, and the map shows a town that has had to fit itself to steep ground.
Grasse is widely known as the world's perfume capital. Since the seventeenth century its growers and distillers have worked with jasmine, rose and other flowers, and in 2018 the region's perfume skills were added to UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage. The painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard was born here, and a major perfume house still carries his name.
A Grasse map poster turns a vertical landscape into flat lines. The medieval core reads as a dense patch of short, broken streets. Hairpin roads unwind across the slope around it, and the green terraces show where flower fields and gardens once stood, and in some places still do. It is an intricate, finely drawn map.

Switchback roads
Roads descend the slope in long hairpin bends that trace the hillside's contours, giving the map sweeping curves that feel very different from a flat grid.
Terraced slopes
Below the old town, villas and gardens occupy terraces cut into the hill. They appear as scattered lanes, a lighter texture spreading toward the coast.
