Grozny Map Poster & Print
Grozny is the capital of the Chechen Republic in the North Caucasus, spread across the valley of the Sunzha river, which curves through the city. It began in 1818 as a Russian fortress, and the city later grew with the oil industry. On a map, wide straight avenues cross the river and lead out into regular residential districts on both banks.
Much of the centre was rebuilt in the 2000s and 2010s, and the new layout is visible from above in its generous boulevards, open squares and landscaped embankments. The Akhmad Kadyrov Mosque, known as the Heart of Chechnya, stands in the centre, and the tall Grozny City towers rise close by along the Sunzha.
Beyond the centre, the street grid loosens into suburbs, industrial zones and open plains that lead south toward the Caucasus mountains. A Grozny map poster can frame the city tightly around the river and the main avenues, or reach far enough to show the edges where streets thin out into fields and the first rising ground.

Central avenues
Long, straight thoroughfares run through the rebuilt centre, crossing the river on several bridges and linking the main squares, which gives the map a clear, almost planned skeleton.
Mosque and towers
The Heart of Chechnya mosque and the Grozny City high-rises sit close together in the centre, a compact landmark cluster set within wide open grounds.

Waarom Grozny
Een kaart met betekenis
For people from Chechnya living elsewhere, or for anyone who has watched the city change, a map records Grozny through its streets rather than its headlines. The strong river curve and broad avenues make a bold composition in any of the darker styles.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are all editable, so the poster can carry a family name, a street or a year. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download 300 DPI files in six sizes for $9.
