Compact town core
Hilvan's streets gather into one small, well-defined centre. That makes the town easy to read on a poster: a single cluster of blocks with roads leaving it in several directions.

De kaart
Hilvan Map Poster & Print
Hilvan lies north of Şanlıurfa in southeastern Turkey, on the broad upland of the Upper Mesopotamian plain. From above the town is a tight cluster of streets inside a much larger field of cultivated land. Plots, field boundaries and farm tracks cover far more of the map than the town does, and that sets the scale of the whole composition.
Like many district towns in the region, Hilvan is arranged around a few main roads that meet near the centre, with residential blocks filling the space between them. The built-up area ends sharply, so there is little suburban fringe. On the page the step from street pattern to open land is abrupt and easy to read.
A Hilvan map poster is a study in contrast between a small, dense core and a quiet, spacious landscape. The surrounding farmland frames the town in fine, regular lines. The long record of settlement across this plain adds some weight to what first looks like a simple drawing of a modest place.

Upland farmland
Past the edge of town the map opens into cultivated land. Field boundaries and farm tracks form a loose grid that fills the outer frame with fine, even linework.
Roads across the plain
Regional roads link Hilvan with Şanlıurfa to the south and with neighbouring districts. On the map they cross the open upland as long, nearly straight strokes.
