Jhanjhārpur Map Poster & Print
Jhanjhārpur is a town in Madhubani district in northern Bihar, in the cultural region of Mithila, not far from the Nepal border. The land here is very flat and shaped by rivers coming down from the Himalayas. From above, the town is a compact cluster of streets surrounded by farmland dotted with villages, ponds and tree groves.
Water is the defining element of this landscape. The Kamla river flows near the town, and its channels and embankments, together with many ponds and seasonal streams, mark the map. A Jhanjhārpur map poster shows the town with this watery plain around it, an area that has long lived with both the benefits and the dangers of its rivers.
Mithila is known for its painting tradition, often called Madhubani art after the district, and for the Maithili language. Jhanjhārpur serves as a local centre for the surrounding villages, with a railway station and roads converging on its market. In black and white, the map reads as a small town in a dense, finely divided rural landscape.
