Jiangping Map Poster
Jiangping is a coastal town in the far south of Guangxi, close to China’s border with Vietnam. From above, its map is dominated by the shoreline of the Gulf of Tonkin: an irregular edge of bays, flats and low land where the streets stop and open water begins.
The town is best known as the home of the Jing people, one of China’s smallest ethnic minorities, whose communities are traditionally associated with three small islands here that are now joined to the mainland. A Jiangping map poster shows how those old island shapes still echo in the layout of roads, fields and water.
Inland, the settlement is a patchwork of villages, ponds and short connecting roads rather than a single dense centre. The coastline gives the print a strong outline, while the scattered clusters of streets inside it keep the composition light and open.
