Kālappatti Map Poster & Print
Kālappatti lies on the northeastern side of Coimbatore in western Tamil Nadu, within the city's expanding urban area. On a map it shows the pattern of a place in transition: an older village core with irregular lanes, surrounded by newer residential layouts whose streets follow straighter, planned lines, all connected to the main roads leading into the city.
Coimbatore is known for its textile mills, engineering industry and education, and its growth has steadily absorbed surrounding villages like this one. The region sits at the foot of the Western Ghats, and although the hills lie some distance west, they influence the climate that makes this part of Tamil Nadu comparatively mild.
A Kālappatti map poster captures that mixture of old and new. The winding paths of the original settlement, the grid-like housing layouts, open plots still waiting to be built on and the connecting roads all sit together, giving the print a layered, detailed texture that tells the story of a city's growth.

New housing layouts
Planned residential plots form rectangular patterns of short parallel streets, adding clear geometric blocks to the edges of the map.
Links to the city
Main roads connect the area with central Coimbatore and neighbouring suburbs, drawing longer lines that tie the neighbourhood into the wider metropolitan area.

Waarom Kālappatti
Een kaart met betekenis
Families who have built a home in one of the new layouts, or who grew up in the older village, often feel a strong attachment to this specific corner of Coimbatore. A precise map of the streets marks that connection more personally than a citywide print.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be personalised, for example with the name of your street or the year you moved in. Five styles are available, Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, to suit a new home or a gift.
