Lane network
Many narrow lanes wind between houses and gardens across the village. On the poster they create a fine, even texture that fills the whole frame.

De kaart
Kappiyara Map Poster & Print
Kappiyara lies in Kanyakumari district, the southernmost district of Tamil Nadu, close to the border with Kerala. The land here is green and densely planted, with coconut palms, paddy fields and small waterways, and the Arabian Sea coast is only a few kilometres away. Settlement in this region is spread out, with houses lining roads through the trees rather than forming dense blocks.
On a map Kappiyara looks like a web of small roads and lanes that connect homes, temples, churches and schools across a gently rolling landscape. The lines are winding and closely spaced, and there is no single dense centre. Streams and water tanks break the pattern in places, and larger roads lead toward the coast and the nearby towns.
A Kappiyara map poster captures this distinctive settlement pattern of south-western India: many fine lanes spread evenly across the land. The result is a detailed, textured print that looks good up close and from across the room. It is a meaningful piece for families from the district, including many who now live and work far away.

Water tanks
Ponds and water tanks appear as small open shapes between the lanes. They add breaks and focal points to the dense pattern of roads.
Toward the coast
Larger roads lead from the village toward the Arabian Sea shore and nearby towns. They cross the finer network and give the map its main directions.
