Khouribga Map Poster & Print
Khouribga sits on a broad plateau in central Morocco, and its existence is tied to what lies beneath it. The town was established in the early twentieth century to exploit phosphate deposits, and from above it still reads like a company town grown large: a regular grid of streets, long avenues and neighbourhoods laid out in orderly blocks.
Around the urban area the landscape changes character. Open-cast phosphate mines and spoil heaps form large pale shapes and terraces, and rail lines lead away toward the Atlantic ports, where the ore is processed and shipped. Few city maps show their economic base so clearly, and at poster scale the contrast between town and mines is striking.
The region around Khouribga is among the largest phosphate-producing areas in the world, which makes the town important to Morocco's economy far beyond its size and connects it to farms across the globe. A Khouribga map poster offers an unusual portrait of a place shaped by industry, geology and planning in almost equal measure.

Waarom Khouribga
Een kaart met betekenis
Generations of miners, engineers and their families have lived in Khouribga, and many now live elsewhere in Morocco or in Europe. A map of the town keeps the memory of home concrete, from the family street to the edge of the mines.
Personalise the title with a family name and the subtitle with a year, then choose from five styles. Sand echoes the pale plateau, while Noir and Blueprint give the grid a sharper, more technical look.
