Kingman Map Poster & Print
Kingman sits in the high desert of northwestern Arizona. It is the seat of Mohave County, in a broad valley bordered by the Cerbat Mountains and the Hualapai Mountains. From above, its structure is shaped by transport: the railway, Interstate 40 and historic Route 66 run through the valley, and the older downtown grid lies close to the tracks, with later neighbourhoods spreading across the desert around it.
Kingman began as a railroad stop in the 1880s and became one of the best-known stops on the old Route 66. A long stretch of the historic highway through town is named Andy Devine Avenue, after the actor who grew up here, and the railway remains one of the strongest lines on the town's map.

The downtown grid grew beside the railroad tracks, and the rail line still cuts a firm, unbroken line through the centre of the map.
Mountain edges
The Cerbat range to the north and the Hualapai range to the southeast frame the valley. Winding roads and dry washes mark their slopes at the edges of the poster.
