Canal lines
Irrigation canals cross the area and set the direction of streets and field edges. They are what keeps the valley green.

Kirguli Map Poster & Print
Kirguli is next to the city of Fergana in eastern Uzbekistan, in the Fergana Valley. It's one of the most densely populated and intensively farmed areas in Central Asia. The mountains that encircle the valley are far from the town, and the land around it is flat and irrigated.
From above, Kirguli's streets run between plots of farmland and household gardens (mahallas), and a network of canals and irrigation ditches runs through the area. Roads link the town to Fergana city, and at the edges the two built-up areas merge. The pattern is a mix of orderly streets and the irregular lines of older plots.
A Kirguli map poster shows the everyday landscape of the Fergana Valley, where water, gardens and houses sit close together. The map is detailed and practical, and it's most meaningful to someone who knows a particular street or courtyard there.

Mahalla streets
Residential streets form neighbourhood blocks with gardens and courtyards. They make a fine, even texture on the print.
Link to Fergana
Roads lead toward the city of Fergana nearby. At the edge of the map the two built-up areas merge.
