Main roads
A few main roads cross the town and anchor its layout. Smaller streets branch off them, and the busiest areas gather where they meet.

De kaart
Kofelē Map Poster & Print
Kofelē lies in the West Arsi zone of Oromia, on the high plateau that rises east of Ethiopia's Rift Valley lakes. From above, the town is organised along a few main roads, with a loosely regular pattern of streets and compounds on either side. Its edges merge gradually into small fields and scattered homesteads.
The surrounding landscape is a mosaic of cultivated plots, pasture and patches of trees, divided by paths that link homesteads to the town. At this altitude the climate is cool, and the farmland is intensively used. A Kofelē map poster shows a settlement that is clearly structured at its centre yet blends easily into the rural pattern around it.
The town is a local centre for trade, schooling and services in a largely agricultural district, where farming and livestock keeping support most households. The wider Arsi highlands are known for producing many of Ethiopia's celebrated distance runners, which gives this part of the country a particular place in its sporting story.

Street pattern
Blocks of houses and compounds form a loosely regular grid around the centre. The pattern is simple to read from above and well suited to a minimal black-and-white style.
Highland farmland
Beyond the last streets, small fields, pasture and clusters of trees cover the plateau, crossed by footpaths that give the outer map a delicate, fine-grained texture.
