Lakes around town
Several lakes lie close to the built-up area. Their smooth, rounded shapes contrast with the angular streets and shape the town's outline.

Kościerzyna Map Poster & Print
Kościerzyna lies in the Kashubian Lake District of northern Poland, south-west of Gdańsk. The landscape was shaped by glaciers, and on the map the town sits among lakes of different sizes, with forest reaching close to its edges. The water gives the town an irregular outline, and some streets bend along the shorelines.
At the heart of town is a market square with a grid of streets around it, typical of Pomeranian towns. Railway lines converge here, and the old locomotive depot now houses a railway heritage museum with steam engines and rolling stock. Kościerzyna is also a centre of Kashubian culture, a regional identity with its own language.
A Kościerzyna map poster combines the order of the old town with the looser shapes of the landscape. The market square and nearby streets form a neat core, the railway tracks sweep in from several directions, and the lakes add broad, smooth areas of open space. The result is a balanced, varied composition.

Waarom Kościerzyna
Een kaart met betekenis
For Kashubians, for families with roots in Pomerania and for anyone who has spent summers by these lakes, this map captures the particular mix of water, forest and small-town streets. It fits well in a home that values quiet landscapes.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps in Polish or Kashubian, and add a date. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint turns the lakes into clear, calm shapes.
