Kushikino Map Poster & Print
Kushikino faces the East China Sea on the western coast of Kagoshima Prefecture. In 2005 it merged with neighbouring Ichiki to form the city of Ichikikushikino. On a map the harbour is the focus: breakwaters and quays enclose a working port, and the town packs itself into the low ground behind them.
Inland the terrain rises quickly into wooded hills, cut by small valleys where farmland and roads follow the streams. The coastline to either side alternates between sandy stretches and rocky headlands. Railway and road links run along the coast toward Kagoshima city. They draw thin lines between the sea and the slopes. Kushikino is known in Japan as a tuna fishing port, and the harbour is still central to local life.
A Kushikino map poster reads clearly from left to right. Open sea comes first, then the straight engineering of the port and the close streets of the town. Hills finish the sheet. The design stays spare because the place is spare: one harbour, one coastline and a green interior.

Coastal plain
The town fills a narrow strip of flat land between the harbour and the hills. Its streets are dense and close together, with little space to spread.
Hills inland
Behind Kushikino, wooded high ground divided by small river valleys leaves large quiet areas on the poster. Roads thread through those valleys.

Waarom Kushikino
Een kaart met betekenis
Kushikino is a good match for anyone with ties to the Kagoshima coast or to a family that fished there. The name has now been merged into a larger city, so a map with its own title keeps it distinct.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be personalised. Five styles are available: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download the HD files for $9, or order a matte print shipped from a nearby print partner, framed if you like.
