Lianhu Map Poster & Print
Lianhu is a town in the southeastern part of Chongqing municipality, in steep, folded country far from the city's high-rise core. Here the land decides everything. Buildings crowd onto whatever flat ground the valley offers, and roads trace contour lines around hillsides before dropping into the next fold. On a map, the settlement looks like a narrow ribbon rather than a grid.
This corner of Chongqing sits among the uplands that stretch toward the borders of Guizhou and Hunan, a region of limestone ridges, terraced slopes and fast-flowing water. Small towns like Lianhu grew along routes that connected villages scattered through the mountains. Many have kept that role as local centres for trade, schooling and services.
A Lianhu map poster captures a town shaped by topography. The streets bunch tightly where the valley allows and thin out where the ground rises, and the switchbacks of mountain roads curl away toward the edges of the frame. The drawing has an almost calligraphic rhythm. It suits anyone with family ties to the mountains of southeast Chongqing.

Switchback roads
Roads leaving town zigzag up the hillsides in tight bends, adding strong, looping lines that stand out against the finer street pattern.
Mountain waterways
Streams run along the valley bottoms, and the town's layout follows their course. Water and road often run side by side through the map.

Waarom Lianhu
Een kaart met betekenis
Many people from the mountain districts of Chongqing now live far from home. A map of Lianhu keeps the shape of the valley, the streets and the roads out of town on the wall, as a reminder of where a family story began.
