Liubotyn Map Poster & Print
Liubotyn lies a short distance west of Kharkiv, and its map is shaped mainly by the railway. It is an important junction where lines from Kharkiv toward Poltava and other directions meet. The tracks cut through town in long, sweeping curves, and the station and rail yards form a large, distinct area that the rest of the street pattern has grown around.
The landscape is more varied than the open steppe further south. Forested hills and small valleys surround the town, and ponds and streams add irregular shapes to the map. Residential streets, many lined with private houses and gardens, spread in loose patterns between the woods. The surroundings have long been a place where Kharkiv residents keep dachas and go for walks.
A Liubotyn map poster shows these elements clearly. The strong lines of the railway, the soft edges of the forest and the scattered water all have their place in the drawing. The picture is of a town that grew from its role as a junction and stayed close to the countryside around it, just beyond the city.

Forested hills
Wooded slopes surround the built-up area and push into it in places. They create large calm areas and soft boundaries around the streets.
Ponds and streams
Small bodies of water appear throughout the valleys and add irregular, rounded shapes that break up the straight lines of streets and rail.
