Contour-led roads
Main roads follow the lie of the land and bend with valleys and slopes, so the map's strongest lines are curves, not straight axes.

De kaart
Longsha Map Poster & Print
Longsha is a town in the north-east of Chongqing municipality, in the steep, deeply folded country of the upper Yangtze basin. Flat land is scarce here, so the map of a settlement like this is shaped as much by terrain as by planning. Roads follow contours, buildings gather where the ground allows, and the built-up area stretches out instead of spreading evenly.
From above, Longsha shows a compact core of closely packed blocks, with roads leaving it along valley floors and hillsides. Around it the drawing thins into winding lanes and scattered buildings. Even in plain black and white, those curving lines hint at the slopes and terraced fields that surround many towns in this part of Chongqing.
A Longsha map poster is a good example of how topography writes itself into street patterns. There is no ring road or neat orthogonal plan to organise it. The town's shape comes from the land, and the curves, forks and dead ends make a composition that feels organic and a little unpredictable, very different from a lowland city.

Compact core
Where the ground allows, buildings and streets pack tightly into a small centre. It forms the darkest, densest part of the poster.
Rural fringe
Beyond the centre the map breaks into thin lanes and isolated clusters, showing the farmland and hills that surround the town on every side.
