Valley setting
The town occupies a valley floor enclosed by mountains, and its streets are concentrated where the land is flattest. This gives the built area a compact, well-defined outline.

Lordegān Map Poster & Print
Lordegān lies in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province in western Iran, in the Zagros Mountains. The province has one of the highest average elevations in the country, and the town sits in a valley among steep ridges. On the map the mountains leave little room for sprawl. The streets gather on the valley floor, and roads follow the natural passes in and out.
This is part of the traditional homeland of the Bakhtiari people, whose seasonal migrations between summer and winter pastures are among the best known in Iran. The town serves as a centre for the surrounding villages and pastoral land. From above, the built area stands out as a compact form set against the open, empty shapes of the mountains around it.
A Lordegān map poster draws its strength from contrast. The dense grid of streets in the valley meets the blank expanse of the Zagros ridges, and the few roads threading between them take on real importance in the composition. It is a quiet, spacious image, well suited to anyone with roots in the Bakhtiari lands or a love of mountain towns.

Mountain roads
Roads leave Lordegān through the natural passes between ridges, curving and climbing as they go. They make lines of real character across the otherwise empty terrain.
Zagros ridges
The surrounding mountains leave large open areas on the map. They frame the town with generous white space and a strong sense of altitude and remoteness.
