Margherita Map Poster & Print
Margherita lies in Tinsukia district in the far east of Assam, on the banks of the Burhi Dihing river. The town's name is unusual for India. It is said to honour Queen Margherita of Italy and to date from the late nineteenth century, when Italian engineers worked on the railway here. From above, the settlement follows the river and the rail line in a long, narrow band.
The surrounding area is known for tea estates and coal mining, and both shape the map. Tea gardens appear as large, regular blocks crossed by internal roads, while the mining area lies toward the hills in the east. The Burhi Dihing winds through the landscape in broad loops, with sandbars and side channels visible at scale.
A Margherita map poster combines a winding river, a small town and the ordered geometry of plantation land. The contrast between these elements gives it a layered, balanced look. It is a meaningful choice for families with roots in upper Assam or anyone who knows the tea and coal country near the border with Arunachal Pradesh.

Tea estates
Large plantation blocks surround the town. Their internal roads and regular boundaries form a quiet geometric pattern around the built-up area.
Rail and town band
The town stretches along the railway and the main road, a narrow built-up strip that follows the river valley.
