The Mazaro river mouth
The river's final stretch doubles as the fishing harbour, a slim channel lined with quays that cuts into the town and anchors the whole composition.

Mazara del Vallo Map Poster & Print
Mazara del Vallo sits on the southwestern shore of Sicily, facing the Strait of Sicily toward North Africa. From above, the town gathers around the mouth of the Mazaro river, whose narrow channel serves as a harbour for one of Italy's largest fishing fleets. Quays line both banks, and the river bends inland as a thin line through the newer districts.
The historic centre shows a different pattern from the grid that surrounds it. The Kasbah quarter, shaped during centuries of Arab rule, is a knot of short alleys, courtyards and sudden turns that looks almost woven on a map. A seafront promenade traces the coast from the river mouth, giving the old town a clean edge against open water.
The town is also known for the Dancing Satyr, an ancient bronze statue pulled from the sea by local fishermen in 1998 and now displayed in the town. A Mazara del Vallo map poster captures that meeting of harbour, medina-like lanes and coastline in a single frame, with the river as the line that ties them together.

Kasbah lanes
The old Arab quarter forms a dense tangle of alleys and small courtyards, a fine-grained texture that stands out clearly against the regular blocks around it.
Seafront edge
A long waterfront promenade follows the shoreline away from the river, giving the map a firm southern boundary where the streets end and the sea begins.

Waarom Mazara del Vallo
Een kaart met betekenis
Mazara del Vallo suits anyone with ties to Sicily's fishing coast, whether family who worked the boats or memories of evenings along the promenade. The contrast between the Kasbah's small lanes and the open sea reads beautifully in monochrome.
