Valley basin
The town occupies level ground at the bottom of a mountain valley, which gives it a compact outline and a clear edge against the slopes.

Miaojie Map Poster & Print
Miaojie is a town in western Yunnan, south of the Dali area, in a landscape of mountain ridges and flat valley basins. From above, the town sits on level ground at the bottom of a valley. A cluster of streets forms the centre, surrounded by a patchwork of fields, and the terrain rises steeply beyond them.
The region around it is home to several ethnic communities, including Yi and Hui peoples, and much of the land is given to farming. As with many towns in the Yunnan uplands, roads follow the valleys and wind over the passes between them, linking the town to the county seat and neighbouring settlements.
A Miaojie map poster captures a town shaped by its basin. Streets concentrate on the flat land, field boundaries add fine lines around them, and the roads leaving town bend with the ridges. The composition is gentle and balanced, a quiet portrait of a place that is little known outside the region.

Field patterns
Farmland around the town appears as a fine grid of plots and paths, adding texture to the space between the streets and the hills.
Winding roads
Roads out of town follow valleys and curve over ridges, forming soft, irregular lines that frame the composition.
