Mineola is a village in Nassau County, on the flat ground of central Long Island. It is the county seat, and the courthouses and county offices sit in a civic district near the centre. The Long Island Rail Road is the strongest line through the village. Mineola station is on the Main Line and is where the Oyster Bay Branch splits off, so tracks leave in more than one direction.
