Airport runways
The long runways and aprons of Yangon International Airport form the strongest shape on the map, a set of clean straight lines set against the looser residential fabric.

Mingaladon Map Poster & Print
Mingaladon is a township in the north of Yangon, Myanmar's largest city, and it is best known as the home of Yangon International Airport. On a map the airfield is impossible to miss. Long, straight runways and taxiways form a bold geometric shape that interrupts the softer, irregular street pattern around them, like a ruled line drawn across a sketch.
Around the airport the township mixes residential wards, institutional compounds and open land. Major roads run north from the city centre through the area. The lanes between them are looser than in downtown Yangon, with larger plots, water tanks and patches of green breaking up the blocks. Further out, the built-up area gives way to fields and woodland.
A Mingaladon map poster captures that meeting of city and edge. The runways anchor the composition, the arterial roads pull the eye towards the centre of Yangon, and the scattered lanes fill the space between. For anyone who has landed here or lived nearby, the shape is familiar even without a label.

Northern arterials
Main roads leave central Yangon and run north through the township, acting as the spine along which wards, compounds and markets are arranged.
Green margins
Toward the outer edge, blocks loosen and open ground, ponds and woodland appear, so the poster moves gradually from dense streets to quiet white space.

Waarom Mingaladon
Een kaart met betekenis
Mingaladon is often the first and last place travellers see in Myanmar, which makes it a meaningful map for a journey home or away. Personalise the title with a flight date, a family name or a short phrase, and adjust the coordinates line to mark a particular spot.
The runways look especially sharp in Blueprint or Noir, while Classic black & white, Paper and Sand give a quieter finish. Download the $9 HD files in six print sizes with no watermark, or order a matte printed poster from one of our print partners.
