Field patterns
Between the built-up clusters, cultivated plots form a fine mosaic of small parcels, typical of Japanese farmland, which turns into a delicate texture of lines in monochrome.

Mochibaru Map Poster & Print
Mochibaru lies in Miyazaki Prefecture, in the south-east of Kyushu, away from the Pacific shoreline that most visitors associate with the region. It is a small place, and its map reads less like a city plan than like a patchwork: clusters of houses along local roads, cultivated fields between them, and the darker texture of wooded ground where the land begins to rise.
Miyazaki is known across Japan for its mild, sunny climate and its farming, from vegetables and fruit to livestock, and that agricultural character is visible from above. Roads tend to follow the lie of the land rather than a strict grid, bending around slopes and streams, so even a modest area produces a lively, irregular line drawing.
A Mochibaru map poster suits someone who knows the place personally, whether as a hometown, a grandparent's house or a stop on a longer journey through Kyushu. Framed wider, it takes in more of the surrounding countryside; framed closer, it focuses on the lanes and small neighbourhoods that make up daily life here.

Winding local roads
Instead of a planned grid, the roads trace older routes along the terrain, curving between houses and fields and giving the poster a hand-drawn, organic quality.
Wooded high ground
Where the land climbs away from the settled areas, the street network thins out, leaving calm open space that frames the neighbourhoods and balances the composition.
