Nimāparha Map Poster & Print
Nimāparha, often written Nimapara, is a town in Puri district in the Indian state of Odisha. It lies on the flat, fertile plain of the Mahanadi delta, between Bhubaneswar and the coast, on the route toward Konark. From above the town is a compact cluster of streets within a much larger landscape of fields, ponds and village settlements.
The delta shapes everything on the map. Rivers and distributary channels cross the plain in slow curves, and ponds dot the land around houses and temples. Rice paddies divide the ground into small, irregular plots, and roads run along raised embankments between them. The town grew along its main roads, with markets and residential lanes branching out toward the surrounding villages.
The Sun Temple at Konark, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies a short distance to the southeast, with the coast of the Bay of Bengal just beyond it. Nimāparha serves as a market and administrative centre for the surrounding rural area. A Nimāparha map poster frames the town close in, where its streets and the patterns of the delta sit side by side.
