Novopolotsk Map Poster & Print
Novopolotsk is a young city. It was founded in 1958 next to the ancient town of Polotsk to house the workers of a new oil refinery, and a map still shows that planned origin. Straight avenues split the land into large residential blocks, and each block is a pattern of apartment buildings spaced around shared courtyards.
The Western Dvina runs along the city and gives the map its one natural curve. The residential districts sit on one side of the road network, and the refinery and chemical plants fill a large separate area. The plants have their own geometry of tanks, pipelines and rail sidings, and in black and white they read almost like a second town.
A Novopolotsk map poster shows a mid-century planning idea from above: housing, industry and green buffers kept in separate zones. The streets are orderly without being monotonous, and the river bends through the frame. The result is clean and architectural, and it suits a print that is meant to look calm.

The Western Dvina
The river forms the city's natural edge, and its broad, gentle curves contrast with the ruled lines of the planned streets.
Industrial district
The refinery that gave the city its reason to exist covers a large area of storage tanks, service roads and rail lines. On the map it is a separate, dense zone.

Waarom Novopolotsk
Een kaart met betekenis
Novopolotsk suits people who grew up among its courtyards, or who worked at the plants that shaped it. The map records a specific moment in twentieth-century planning, and many families who moved there in those decades will recognise that history.
You can put the family name or the year you arrived in the title and add the coordinates underneath. Classic black & white keeps the plan sharp. Blueprint fits the city's engineering roots, and Paper and Sand give it a warmer tone.
