Ocotlán Map Poster & Print
Ocotlán stands at the eastern end of Lake Chapala, Mexico's largest freshwater lake, and its map is organised around water. The town sits where the lake drains into the Río Santiago, which then begins its long course toward the Pacific. The river passes through the town, and bridges link the neighbourhoods on either side of it.
The streets themselves form a fairly regular grid, typical of Mexican towns built around a central square, with newer districts spreading outward over the flat land near the shore. Ocotlán is widely known for its furniture industry, which has long been one of the main sources of work in the town and a large part of its reputation in the region.
An Ocotlán map poster works well because of the strong contrast between the dense town and the broad surface of the lake. The shoreline curves across one side of the composition, the river cuts through the centre, and the street grid fills the land in between, giving the print a clear, balanced structure.

Río Santiago
The river leaves the lake at Ocotlán and flows through the town, drawing a clear line through the streets and linking both banks with several bridges.
Central grid
Around the historic centre, streets follow a regular grid that extends toward the outskirts, providing a fine, orderly texture against the open water nearby.
