Dispersed settlement
Homes line the roads in long, continuous strips rather than gathering into a centre, giving the map a gentle, web-like pattern typical of rural Kerala.

Ongallur-I Map Poster & Print
Ongallur-I is a census town in Palakkad district, Kerala, near Pattambi, in the valley of the Bharathapuzha, one of the state's longest rivers. On a map it looks very different from a compact town. Houses are spread along roads and lanes, surrounded by trees and fields, in the dispersed pattern typical of settlements across much of Kerala.
The roads wind gently rather than forming a grid, linking clusters of homes, temples, mosques and schools. Low-lying fields, often used for rice, appear as open patches between the built strips. The '-I' in the name reflects the administrative division of a larger area into separate census units.
An Ongallur-I map poster shows this distinctive Kerala landscape: a soft web of lanes across green country, with no hard edge between town and village. In black and white, the pattern becomes delicate and lace-like. It is a meaningful piece for Malayali families at home or abroad, particularly those with roots in Palakkad.

Winding lanes
Narrow roads and lanes curve around fields and plots, linking neighbourhoods and institutions in a network that reads almost like handwriting on the poster.
Open field patches
Unbuilt low-lying land appears as irregular blank spaces between the lanes, reflecting the paddy fields and farmland still woven through the area.
