Town grid
The centre is a clear grid of blocks around the main square, sitting on higher ground and giving the print a well-defined, orderly heart.

Quimbaya Map Poster & Print
Quimbaya is a town in the department of Quindío, in Colombia's coffee-growing region. It takes its name from the Quimbaya people, whose goldwork is among the most celebrated pre-Columbian art in the Americas. On the map the town appears as a compact grid of streets set on elevated ground, with slopes and small stream valleys falling away around it.
The surrounding municipality forms part of the Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia, listed by UNESCO, and the map beyond the town is a pattern of winding rural roads following the contours of the hills. Farms and small settlements are scattered along them, and ravines cut dark, irregular lines through the green landscape.
A Quimbaya map poster also recalls the town's best-known tradition, the Festival of Candles and Lanterns held each December, when neighbourhoods decorate their streets with light. The regular grid makes that festival easy to imagine on the map, block by block. For people from Quimbaya, it is a warm and personal record of home.

Coffee hills
Around the town, narrow roads wind across the hilly coffee landscape, following ridgelines and contours in a pattern very different from the urban grid.
Ravines
Small streams have cut steep valleys through the surrounding land, and their courses appear as fine, meandering lines that break up the rural roads.
