Rolim de Moura Map Poster & Print
Rolim de Moura is a relatively young city in the Brazilian state of Rondônia. It grew during the agricultural settlement of the region in the late twentieth century. The map shows this clearly. The streets form a regular grid of straight roads and rectangular blocks, laid out on open, gently rolling ground rather than grown slowly over centuries.
Beyond the town, the land is divided into long rural plots with straight property lines and access roads. Patches of remaining forest and the winding lines of streams break up the pattern. The contrast between the geometric town, the ruled farmland and the natural watercourses gives the area a distinctive look from above.
A Rolim de Moura map poster records a city that was planned rather than inherited. Its clear grid, wide avenues and sharp edge against the countryside make a clean, graphic image. It suits people who helped build the town or grew up in it.

Surrounding farm plots
Long rectangular land parcels and rural roads spread out from the town. They record how the surrounding land was divided for farming.
Streams and forest
Winding creeks and irregular stands of forest interrupt the ruled lines of the farmland. They add organic shapes to the composition.
