Missouri S&T campus
The university occupies a large area next to downtown. Its paths, buildings and open lawns form a distinct pattern that contrasts with the regular street grid around it.

Rolla Map Poster & Print
Rolla sits in the northern Ozarks of south-central Missouri, surrounded by wooded hills and not far from the Mark Twain National Forest. It grew up as a railroad town in the mid-nineteenth century, and its downtown still follows a straightforward grid laid out close to the old line. Route 66 once ran through the town, and Interstate 44 now skirts it.
The town is best known as home to Missouri University of Science and Technology, founded in 1870 as the Missouri School of Mines. The campus sits beside downtown and is a large, distinctive block on the map. It is also home to a partial, half-scale reconstruction of Stonehenge, a well-known local landmark.
A Rolla map poster brings these layers together: the tight downtown grid, the looser campus with its quads and paths, the curving residential streets climbing the surrounding hills, and the broad line of the interstate. It is a compact composition with a clear centre and a lot of green around it.

Downtown grid
The historic centre is laid out as a simple grid of short blocks. It reads crisply on paper and anchors the composition at the heart of the town.
Interstate 44
The interstate, successor to Route 66, sweeps past the town as a broad, curving line. It gives the poster a strong edge and a sense of passage.
