Fort outline
The Fort de Romainville keeps its polygonal outline. It stands out as a clear geometric shape among the surrounding streets and adds a strong focal point to the poster.

Romainville Map Poster & Print
Romainville is in Seine-Saint-Denis, on the eastern side of Paris, where the land rises onto a plateau above the city. From above, the town is a close mesh of streets, older houses and apartment blocks. Parts of the old village core remain, and roads run down the slopes towards neighbouring communes.
One of its defining features is the Fort de Romainville, one of the nineteenth-century forts built around Paris. It was used as an internment and deportation site during the Second World War. The Corniche des Forts park stretches along the plateau edge. It adds an irregular green shape to the map, following old quarries and steep ground.
A Romainville map poster shows a suburb with more structure than most. The plateau and its escarpment create natural boundaries, the fort has a distinctive geometric outline, and the dense surrounding streets give the design a rich texture. The metro extension has brought the town closer to central Paris, and the map reflects that growing connection.

Corniche des Forts
The park runs along the plateau edge in an irregular green band that follows former quarries and slopes. It forms a natural border on the map.
Plateau streets
Dense streets cover the plateau and run down its sides towards neighbouring towns. The result is a detailed, closely woven pattern typical of the inner Paris suburbs.

Waarom Romainville
Een kaart met betekenis
Romainville is home to Parisians who wanted more space, and to families who have lived on the plateau for generations. A map of it recognises a place often overlooked in favour of the city next door. It suits a new apartment, a studio or a gift for someone who has just moved in.
