The Chyornaya Kalitva
The river loops along the town in soft curves. Floodplain meadows around it leave open white space on the poster, a contrast with the dense street grid.

Rossosh’ Map Poster & Print
Rossosh’ lies in the south of Voronezh Oblast on the Chyornaya Kalitva, a tributary of the Don. The surrounding land is broad and gently rolling, and from above the town appears as a dense cluster of streets against open fields. The river winds past in loose bends, bordered by low meadows, and the built-up area spreads along its bank.
The town began as an eighteenth-century settlement and grew in importance with the railway, which still runs through it on the main line between central Russia and the south. On the map the tracks form a long, decisive line through the town. Sidings and yards widen the corridor, and neighbourhoods are arranged on either side.
A Rossosh’ map poster shows a place defined by these two lines, one natural and one engineered. Residential streets form a mostly regular grid of private houses and apartment blocks, industrial areas sit at the edges, and beyond them lie large rectangular fields. The result is a plain, honest portrait of a working provincial town.

Railway corridor
A main line crosses the town with broad tracks and yards. It is the strongest straight line on the map and divides the urban area into distinct districts.
Black-earth fields
Around the edges, streets give way to large rectangular fields and straight farm roads. This is a pattern typical of the region, and it looks graphic in black and white.
