Samālkha is a town in the Panipat district of Haryana, on the main road that runs north from Delhi towards Panipat and beyond. From above, the highway and the parallel railway line form the strongest features, with the town growing on either side of them. Older, denser streets sit close to the centre, while newer areas extend along the roads.
Like many towns on the Grand Trunk corridor, Samālkha connects farming communities in the surrounding fields with the markets and industries of larger cities.
