Santa Elena Map Poster & Print
Santa Elena stands on the peninsula of the same name, the point where mainland Ecuador pushes furthest into the Pacific. It is the capital of Santa Elena Province, which was created in 2007. From above, its streets form a broad, mostly regular grid set in dry coastal land. Roads link it to La Libertad and Salinas to the west.
The town is known for the Amantes de Sumpa, a pair of prehistoric human remains found buried in an embrace. They belong to the Las Vegas culture, one of the oldest known in the region. A site museum in Santa Elena now presents the find and makes the town an important stop for Ecuadorian archaeology.
A Santa Elena map poster shows a place defined by its geography: arid ground, a dense grid and the peninsula's coastline shaping the frame. In monochrome the contrast between the built-up blocks and the open land is especially sharp. The map works well for anyone with ties to the Ecuadorian coast.

Street grid
The centre follows a clear rectilinear plan that loosens toward the edges. On the poster the blocks give way to sparser roads.
Arid surroundings
Dry scrubland surrounds the town, with few waterways or green spaces. This leaves generous negative space around the streets and suits a minimal black-and-white design.

Waarom Santa Elena
Een kaart met betekenis
Santa Elena draws both returning families and people who have spent seasons on the Ecuadorian coast. A map of its streets marks that link simply, and it pairs naturally with a map of Salinas or Guayaquil on the same wall.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital files are 300 DPI PNGs and print-ready PDFs without a watermark. Framed and unframed prints are also available.
