Saratoga Map Poster & Print
Saratoga lies on the western edge of the Santa Clara Valley, where the flat suburban streets of Silicon Valley meet the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The eastern part of the city is laid out in quiet residential blocks, while to the west the roads begin to wind up canyons and ridges. At the meeting point is Saratoga Village, a compact downtown along Big Basin Way.
The city is known for its landmarks in the hills. Villa Montalvo, the former estate of Senator James Phelan, is now an arts centre with gardens and trails, and Hakone Gardens is among the oldest Japanese-style gardens in the Western Hemisphere. Highway 9 leads from the village up into the mountains toward the redwoods and the coast.
A Saratoga map poster shows two landscapes in one frame: the regular streets of the valley floor to the east and the looping, contour-hugging roads of the foothills to the west. The small village centre sits between them, giving the composition a natural focal point.
