Fine residential lanes
Narrow streets wind between houses and follow old field boundaries. Together they form a dense, irregular mesh typical of Tokyo's outer suburbs.

Sashiōgi Map Poster & Print
Sashiōgi is an area in the western part of Saitama City, on the broad, flat Kanto plain north of Tokyo. It lies toward the lowlands near the Arakawa river, where the city thins out into a mixture of houses, farms and open land. From above, the street pattern is typical of the Tokyo outskirts: narrow residential lanes, a few wider through roads, and irregular blocks that grew over older field boundaries.
The area is mostly residential and agricultural rather than commercial. Detached houses and small apartment buildings stand between vegetable plots and older farmhouse compounds, and irrigation channels follow the edges of the fields. Toward the river the land opens up, with levees and floodplain creating a wide open area on the map.
A Sashiōgi map poster shows the finely grained texture of suburban Japan. Short lanes, small blocks and scattered green spaces make a dense but quiet pattern. It is an honest image of an everyday place, the kind where many people in the Tokyo region actually live.

Farm plots
Vegetable fields and small agricultural plots still sit among the houses. They appear as open patches that break up the built-up pattern.
River lowland
Toward the Arakawa the land opens into floodplain protected by levees. It forms a broad, calm band on the side of the map.
