Shizhi Map Poster & Print
Shizhi is a town in Chongqing municipality, in southwest China, where the land rarely lies flat. The Chongqing region is made of folded hills and deep valleys drained by tributaries of the Yangtze. Towns here have to fit themselves into whatever level ground the terrain allows.
On the map, that gives Shizhi an elongated, irregular footprint. Streets follow valley floors and contour lines instead of forming a grid, and roads switch back as they climb out of town. The slopes around it are cut into farm terraces and patches of woodland, and small hamlets are scattered across the hillsides, linked by winding lanes.
