Sunlou Map Poster & Print
Sunlou is a small town in the far north of Jiangsu province, in the broad, low-lying plain that extends across this part of eastern China. There are no significant hills here. The landscape is shaped almost entirely by people, with a geometry of farm plots, roads and water channels that divides the land into regular pieces.
The settlement forms a compact cluster at the meeting of local roads. Its streets are denser at the core and quickly give way to fields and the villages that dot the plain. As in much of northern Jiangsu, small canals and drainage ditches run through the farmland, often in straight lines that follow the field edges.
A Sunlou map poster is quiet and geometric. The town appears as a knot of streets, surrounded by a pattern of straight rural roads and water channels. It is a map of an agricultural landscape, and it suits people with roots in the area who want to keep a clear picture of home.
