Paddy patterns
Much of the land is divided into regular paddy fields, and their straight boundaries create a fine, woven texture that fills the space around the town.

De kaart
Tachiarai Map Poster & Print
Tachiarai is a small town in Fukuoka Prefecture, on the broad, level Chikugo Plain of northern Kyushu. From above, the landscape is mostly agricultural: irrigated fields divided into neat rectangles, farm roads running between them and clusters of houses along the main routes. Railway lines cross the town, and the built-up area gathers most densely around the station.
In the first half of the twentieth century Tachiarai was home to a major army airfield and flight school, which was heavily bombed in 1945. The Tachiarai Peace Memorial Museum now tells that story, and among its exhibits is a fighter aircraft recovered from the sea. For a town of this size, it is a surprisingly weighty chapter.
A Tachiarai map poster shows the town as it is now: quiet, open and orderly. The rectangular fields give the print a soft, even texture, the rail lines draw firm strokes across it, and the small cluster of streets near the station provides a focal point. It suits anyone who knows how still the plain can be.

Railway lines
Rail lines run through the municipality and converge on the station area, giving the print clear structural lines and a natural focus where the streets are densest.
Airfield history
The former army air base shaped the town's twentieth century. Today the Peace Memorial Museum near the station keeps that history, while the old airfield land serves other uses.
