Paddy grid
Rectangular rice fields cover much of the land around the town. They create a fine, repeating grid that forms the background of the whole poster.

Tamamura Map Poster & Print
Tamamura lies in the south of Gunma Prefecture, on the flat northern edge of the Kanto plain between the cities of Takasaki and Isesaki. From above, the town is a patchwork of housing areas, roads and farmland. Rice paddies and vegetable fields are cut into neat rectangles, and residential streets fill the spaces between them in small, irregular clusters.
The town belongs to Sawa District, and much of its recent growth comes from being close to the larger cities of southern Gunma. Many residents commute, while farming continues on the surrounding land. Irrigation channels and small rivers cross the plain, and on a clear day the mountains of central Gunma rise on the horizon.
A Tamamura map poster captures the typical pattern of the Japanese countryside close to cities: fine grids of paddies, winding lanes that follow old field boundaries, and newer roads laid straight across the land. In black and white the effect is almost textile-like, a close weave of lines that repays a careful look.

Housing clusters
Residential streets gather in compact pockets among the fields. They show up as denser knots of lines scattered across the flat landscape.
Water channels
Irrigation channels and small streams run across the plain. They add thin, gently curving lines that soften the geometry of the fields.
